VIMEO GUIDE

Keep Video supports Vimeo video downloading through yt-dlp on macOS, Windows and Linux. Use the online tool to parse a link and save the completed file to your device. Desktop installers are also available.

Install and prepare the tools

Install Keep Video for your operating system and check yt-dlp and FFmpeg in Settings. Save content you own or have permission to download.

Use the video page address

Copy the Vimeo video page URL. For an embedded player, first check whether you can access its Vimeo page. Successful embedded playback does not necessarily mean downloads are permitted.

Quality and creator-provided downloads

If the creator enables Vimeo’s own download button, that is a useful first option. In the app, choose only returned formats; original files and particular resolutions may be unavailable.

Passwords, privacy and paid content

Password protection, domain restrictions and paid access add separate requirements. Keep Video does not unlock those permissions or guarantee extraction of protected videos. Ask the creator for download permission or a file.

If extraction fails

Confirm the link works in a browser, update yt-dlp, then check login state, network and runtime tools using the troubleshooting guide. Platforms change; support does not mean every video always works. Email [email protected] with your operating system, app version and a redacted error message.

Sources and support

Platform support relies on yt-dlp extractors and can change as platforms evolve.
